Problem section background

The Problem

Despite its value in sinus disease,
neurodegeneration, and longevity,
smell testing is slow, poorly suited
to clinical workflows, and biased.

Cultural bias, manual processes, and biological
variability limit accuracy and adoption, leaving
clinicians without a universal standard.

The Solution

Our SMELL-RS
Technology:

a Universal
Olfactory Stimulus

We developed proprietary odor mixtures, a fundamental breakthrough, designed to activate a broad range of olfactory receptors, enabling measurement of smell sensitivity and resolution.

For the first time, human olfaction can be assessed using a standardized metric that is comparable across individuals, populations, and countries.

Our SMELL-RS
Technology:

a fully Digital Platform

We realize this science by utilizing Sony's Next-gen Olfactometry System (NOS-DX1000).

The core technology of Sony's device is the Tensor Valve™ Technology, a wire-type linear actuator array achieving high output force and high stroke, with highly hermetically sealed cartridges that suppress odor leakage and enable odorant display with a high dynamic range.
